Photovoltaic Panel Recycling Line

Automated dismantling, crushing and separation — a purely physical process with no environmental pollution

Product description

The line processes end-of-life photovoltaic panels by automated dismantling, crushing and sorting. The entire process is purely physical, with no environmental pollution. Solar panels contain a high proportion of aluminium, glass, silicon, plastics and copper — materials with very good value for further use.

Output products

• Aluminium — recovered from the panel frame.
• Glass — tempered, sorted by granule size.
• Copper.
• Silicon powder.
• Plastic.

All output fractions are ready for further material use.

Process

Phase 1 — dismantling: robotic panel feeding, 3D scanning, junction box removal, aluminium frame removal, glass removal.

Phase 2 — crushing and separation: the EVA layer is crushed and milled into powder, which is separated into metal and plastic. Silicon is captured by a pulse filter.

Key equipment

• Robotic panel feeding — 14 kW robot, 2× 5.5 kW lifting platforms, protective fencing with automatic stop when the gate is opened.
• 3D scanner — 0.75 kW, 3.2 × 1.9 × 2.9 m; measures panel dimensions automatically and identifies the position and number of junction boxes, so the line handles different panel sizes without manual measurement.
• Junction box removal — 4.5 kW, 3.6 × 2.9 × 2.7 m; handles vertical and horizontal placement and single or triple box configurations.
• Aluminium frame removal — 9.38 kW, 3.9 × 5.4 × 2.7 m, automatic panel position recognition.
• Glass removal system — heating the panels to 50–70 °C softens the adhesive layer while glass particles retain their size; glass removal efficiency 90–98 %.
• Single-shaft shredder — 40 kW, 2.8 × 1.7 × 2.4 m; crushes material to approximately 5 cm, the built-in screen ensures uniform output.
• Turbo mill with vibrating screen — 83 kW, 3.1 × 1.8 × 3.8 m; oversized particles are returned for re-milling.
• Air separator — 9 kW; separates metal from plastic by specific density.
• Circular vibrating screen and pulse filter — silicon separation; extraction efficiency up to 99 %, captures particles above 0.3 µm.

Space requirements

Recommended hall size: length 58 m, width 14 m, height 5.5 m.
